Broadmoor
Broadmoor was essentially a twelve-acre lake and a fishing spot for Uptowners until the early 20th century. In 1903, the Broad Street Pumping Station was completed, and a small population settled in the area in 1915. Early construction began between 1920 and 1924. Today, this historic district consists of multi-storied Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean Revival homes, Bungalow style basement homes, low-slung double shotgun houses and Classical mansions.
The Broadmoor Improvement Association is the most unified neighborhood association in New Orleans. Founded in 1930, the BIA’s vision is to preserve its diverse culture. Visit https://www.broadmoorimprovement.com/ to join and learn more about the association.
